The safest way to protect your Raspberry Pi

We developed the UPiS for our own use in our advertising mirror products ( www.admirror.eu ) because there was nothing on the market that fulfilled our needs. We then decided to offer it to the community thinking that there might be others that need the functionality and are equally frustrated not being able to find anything anywhere.

The UPiS is a professional Uninterruptable Power Supply that replaces the usual power supply and provides the Raspberry Pi with energy as long as the AC is connected. When the AC is interrupted the built-in battery can provide the nano computer with power for several hours (depending on the devices connected). The UPiS communicates with the Raspberry Pi via two cables that are connected to the GPIO and warns the board that the AC is interrupted.

After a user-defined time, set in software, the computer switches off safely to protect the file systems on the SDHC card. The Raspberry Pi is also able to switch off the UPiS itself to prevent discharge of the battery and then turn itself off.

Works also with

other nano computer boards like the BeagleBoard or Arduino based systems, as long as they require 5V and less than 2A. The signalling and auto shutdown features require additional software on the processor board and I/O pins (3.3V level) to function correctly

What is the UPiS intended for?

This Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) replaces the usual power supply and provides the nano computer (e.g. Raspberry Pi) with mains power as long as the AC is connected.

If the mains power is interrupted, the built-in battery takes over instantaneously and can provide the nano computer with power for several hours (depending on the devices connected).

Can I use it with other nano computers?

The UPiS is designed to work with the Raspberry Pi nano computer, however, it also works with other nano computers (e.g. the BeagleBoard) as long as it does not use more than 10W of power.

To use the automated shutdown feature the target computer must be equipped with at least one signaling input and 1 signaling output (3.3V) and the operating system software has to be altered by the user.

What is the difference between the 2 models?

The only difference is that one model has a built-in 100 – 240V mains power supply and the other one uses your existing power supply
